Patrick Njenga
Graduate Student
Department of Chemistry
Patrick Njenga received his B.Tech. in Industrial and Applied Chemistry from the Technical University of Kenya in 2015. He is currently a graduate student at the University of Connecticut, pursuing a Chemistry Ph.D. in Prof. Rajeswari Kasi’s research lab. His current research focus involves the molecular design, scalable fabrication, and structure−properties relationship of cellulose nanocrystals/liquid crystal polymer hybrid materials exploiting their dual-cross-linked network during interlocking. These multi-stimuli-responsive hybrid materials have potential widespread membrane applications in the removal of cationic dyes and forever chemicals. Other research interests include drug delivery systems, optical devices, and sensors.
